Shri Henry Lobo, one of the few prominent and most successful businessmen of the Mangalorean Catholic Community living in Mumbai was born on 4th January, 1946 to Shri Marcel Lobo and Smt. Rita Lobo at Naidod village in Shirva, Karnataka.

He completed his SSC in 1963 at the well-known St Mary's High School at Shirva and did his B.Com. from Bhuvanendra College, Karkala in 1967.

Thereafter he went to Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and tried his hand at construction business.  However in the year 1970, like many Mangaloreans, he proceeded to Mumbai in search of a job and succeeded in getting a job in a private firm.  In 1972 he proceeded to Europe and after working there for two years he returned to India with enough capital and expertise to start his own business, which he always wanted do.  In the year 1974 he started Heniel Pack at Ghatkopar, Mumbai.  Heniel Pack manufactures N. F. and E. F. corrugated paper rolls and boxes.  They specialize in all types of grey board and E Flute cartons.  Their clients include Pfizer, Lupin, Johnson and Johnson etc.  In 1980 he started Preema Packaging at Mahakali Caves  Road, Andheri East, Mumbai specialized in Offset printing and packaging material  supplying to the same above companies.

Shri Henry Lobo was recently elected chairman of the Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He is the Chairman of the Suvidha Co-operative credit Society for the last 8 years.  He also serves as the Chairman of the PASK Welfare League, Vakola, Mumbai.  He is a Konkani lover, a philanthropist and a Social worker.

He wants to see more and more Mangalorean youth to go into business instead of taking up jobs because he believes that is the ultimate way to come up economically.

Shri Lobo resides at Bandra West with his wife Smt. Philomena Lobo.  He has two daughters.  The eldest a doctor is married and settled in the USA and the second daughter a MBA, is married and settled in India.
