'DIVO" Illustrated Konkani Weekly orgnizes 7th Seminar "Leaders in the making and reaching to the Top" at Shirva
'Divo' Illustrated Konkani weekly Mumbai had organized a Seminar for children at St. Mary's College Hall, Shirva at Shri Francis Fernandes Cascia Stage on Sunday the 17th January 2010 at 9.30am.
The Seminar was named after Vanilda Lobo who had actively participated in the last seminar held in Nirkan Parish and met an unfortunate road accident and lost her life. She was the niece of Resource person Shri V P Lobo. Hence the present Seminar was named after her as "Vanilda Memorial Seminar". The Seminar was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho, Parish Priest of our Lady of Health Church, Shirva and Vicar Vara of Shirva Varado.
Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho was the President of the function. Rev. Fr. Edwin D'Souza, Dr John Clarence Miranda, Principal St Mary's College, Shri Lawrence Coelho, Editor, 'Divo' 'Illustrated Konkani Weekly', Smt. Susan Coelho, The Secular Citizen, Shri Walter Lasrado, Shri Naveen Kulshekar, Shri Stany Lobo, Shri Lawrence D'Souza, Kamani, Shri John G Mendonca, Sr. Hilda, Superior, Mr. Albert W. D'Souza, Chairman, Model Co-Operative Bank, Shri V.P Lobo, Rev Fr (Dr) Ronald Cutinha, Shri Thomas Castelino, Shri H.R Alva, Shri Norbert Machado, Vice-President, Parish Council, Shri Melwyn Aranha, Secretary, Parish Council were on the dais.
Shri Albert W. D'Souza, Shri V. P. Lobo, Prof. Judith Pinto, Prof. Gerald Pinto (Jerry Niddodi) and Rev Dr. Ronald Cutinha were the resource persons for the Seminar.
There were many surprise prizes in cash and kind to the enthusiastic participants.
Rev Fr. Maxim D'Souza (Main Celebrant), Rev. Fr. Edwin D'Souza and Rev. Fr. Ronald Cutina concelebrated the Holy Eucharistic Mass.
MSW students gave wholehearted support to the Seminar by actively participating in the overall management of the Seminar. Anil Caterers, Shankerpura provided delicious breakfast, Lunch, Tea Snacks to all the participants, along with sound system.
Shri Lawrence Coelho, Editor, 'Divo' Illustrated Konkani Weekly, explained the significance of the Seminar, Shri Vincent Alva, Pambur and Smt. Sarita Alva nee D'Souza compered the programme. Dr. John Clarence Miranda welcomed the gathering. President Rev Fr. Richard Coelho welcomed the 'Divo' Team for organizing the Seminar and wished them all the best and called upon the children to participate in the Seminar wholeheartedly and reap the maximum benefits in forming their future. Shri Naveen Kulshekar introduced the resource persons in the morning and Shri S. Lobo in the afternoon session.and Shri Lawrence D'Souza Kamani proposed the Vote of thanks.
