The Bombay Catholic Sabha [BCS] congratulates and wishes the new Maharashtra Government and the Cabinet to fulfill its promises to its people. BCS demands the inclusion of minorities [Sikh, Parsi and Christian] in the appointment of Ministers. At last, the Government of Maharashtra has been formed. The Bombay Catholic Sabha [BCS] wishes Shri Ashok Chavan, Chief Minister and its entire Cabinet the best in good governance during its tenure.

BCS is however disappointed that while regions and the Muslim Community has been given due representation in the formation of the Government, there is not a single representation from the other minorities namely, the Sikhs, Parsis and Christians. This anamoly needs to be rectified as there are a few berths that are still vacant and justice must be done to the other Minorities. BCS demands that the Congress / NCP government should uphold its secular traditions and do the needful immediately.

Minority communities, predominantly Sikhs, Christians and Parsis, are peeved with the Congress-NCP government for not giving any representation to them in the cabinet. A delegation of prominent Sikh leaders called on CM Ashok Chavan at his residence and put forward names of four-time legislator Baldev Khosa for a ministerial post. "The CM assured us that one of our representatives would be taken on board but we are disheartened. We will also approach the Congress high command to press for our demand," said Joginder Singh Palla, a community leader.
