25th SilverJublee Celebration of Konkani Sabha at Kalidas Hall Mulund(W)
Konkani Sabah celebrated its 25th Silver jublee at 10 a.m on 27th September 2009 at Kalidas Hall Mulund . The programme was well attended by 800 members and their families.
The celebrations were commenced with prayers by the past president Peter D'souza followed by an event by sangeet samrat, Mr Henry D'souza.
The meeting was presided by Mr Lawrence D'souza , M.D. of Blue Star elevators India Pvt.Ltd also the honorory President of Konkani Sabah. The cheif guest for the day was Mr. Charan Singh Sapra, MLC Maharashtra and the guest of honour was Mrs. Janet D'souza, daughter of a Minister of Maharashtra in the 90's and currently the Mahila Congress President of Bombay Pradesh Congress. Mr. Raymond Lobo an entrepreneur, adressed the gathering and made an appeal to the crowd to get other members to join the club, such that the club has atleast 2 lakh members. This in turn would help the Sabah's dream of Konkani Bhavan(an old age home for the poor) come true. Mrs. Janet D'souza assured her support for Konkani Sabah in their future projects. Mr. Charan Singh Sapra in his speech assured support to purchase land for the Konkani Bhavan building.
The entertaining events that followed were songs by Sangeet Samrat Henry D'souza and jokes and dance by Nach moga naeli. The show successfully concluded with lunch served to guests present by 2.00 pm.
