Monthi Fest at St. Joseph Church, Mira Road
Sep.8th Thursday: The Feast of the Birthday of Mother Mary - Monti Fest or Harvest Feast was celebrated here with pomp and gaiety at Joseph Church, Mira Road. After the 8.15 mass new corn was blessed by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Dominic Vas The children showered flower petals on Mother Mary and walked in procession with adults to the Church for the Solemn Holy Mass accompanied with traditional brass band. After the Feast Mass, people returned home with the blessed new paddy and the children cherished the day as delicious sweets were distributed to them.
