EuroSchool students organize Peace Festival spreading the message of peace and harmony in the world

Mumbai:- Children of EuroSchool celebrated World Peace day. In the effort to spread this message of goodwill, tolerance and cooperation, the staff and students of EuroSchool decided to have a community event leading to the EuroSchool Peace Festival-In Celebration of Peace held at Nirmal Lifestyle Mall in Mulund. The objective of the event was not only to spread peace but also spread public awareness about an individual's role in spreading peace.

All students actively participated. Parents, siblings, teachers and all visitors to the mall were a part of the EuroSchool Peace Festival-In Celebration of Peace. The message of peace and harmony was sent by students through plays, dances and different activities that explained the importance of this virtue and made each EuroSchool child an ambassador of peace.
Parents and the other audience made Peace Flags; wrote messages on the peace wall; pledged to respect life as their participation in the EuroSchool Peace Festival-In Celebration of Peace. The atmosphere reverberated with fun, cheerfulness and hope for a more peaceful future as everyone joined in the singing and dancing.

The objective of the event was to give each participant and audience member a time to introspect about their role in peace building process. The EuroSchool children are now aware that peace is not absence of war but elimination of violence, amicable conflict resolution, anger management, avoidance of words that hurt, cooperation, and understanding. The children of Grade V presented a Play- "One Voice, One Hope" that pleaded with adults to shun violence in all its forms that appreciate the inherent goodness in all of us. Grade III children danced on "Heal the World". Little feet made a request to all to care enough and make the world a better place. Children of Grade II sang and promised to each out with helping hands and had more open hearts and minds as they sang "touch the World". Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Natasha Mehta, Principal, EuroSchool, Airoli said that, "If our young children learn the true meaning of peace- the future is safe. With this in mind, we celebrated a week long activity on occasion of International Peace Day in our school on the 21st September that concluded today. We hope that each EuroSchool child becomes an ambassador of Peace and together they form a generation that can build a sustainable culture of peace for themselves".
