Monti Celebrations at St. Louis Church, Dahisar

Mumbai, Sep 21:- Konkani Liturgical committee of  St. Louis Church Dahisar West, Mumbai celebrated Monti Fest in a very meaningful manner on 19 Sep 2010. The celebrations started with the offering of flowers to "Maria Bombina" and the Novena. Small children who carried flowers were given sugar canes.

This followed by the festive mass celebrated by Fr. Roshan D'Souza Bolie, Fr Nelson Saldanha and Fr. Johny Tekkamalli. Fr. Roshan delivered a heart touching sermon. The melodious choir added fragrance
to the Eucharistic celebrations.

There was an attractive Konkani cultural programme after the mass. The programme started with the brief introduction of the History and relevance of Monti Fest celebrations by Veronica Noronha.

Fr. Roshan Loy D'Souza Bolie and Mr. George D'Souza president of Canara Konkani Association Borivli where the guest for the programme. Parish Priest Fr. Leo D'Souza, Fr. Johnny Tekkamalli, Fr. Ashok, Sr.
Jayamati, Sr. Leena, Sr. Pragati and Mr. John DSouza were also present at the occasion.

Welcome Dance was presented by Keziah Noronha, Nia Cornelio, Nikita pinto, Valine Lobo and Ruvena Lobo. Welcome Song was presented by Philomena DSouza, leena D'Souza, Blanche D'Souza and Juliana D'Souza. "Amorechi Ghant" a dance performance by the Elderly Men ("AAB") was the added attraction of the programme. Veronica Noronha and Nirmala beautifully gave introduction to this show. Joseph Menezes, Urban Pinto, Cyril Bothello and Walter beautifully presented the show.

"Mot Uzwaday" a skit written and directed by Joseph D'Souza Borivli was presented by Irene Lobo, Wilfred Mendonca and Theresa menezes. Harry Bantwal did the stage management for the skit. Fr. Roshan D'Souza Bolie sang the theme song.

"Mira Mira" dance was presented by Shamini and Shirley. A hilarious comedy skit was presented by Josephine and Hilda. "Salu Alu" dance was presented by Steve Mendonca and Nigil Martis. Veronica and Nirmala presented a mimicry. Lyra Lobo sang a song "Tujevinn"

Mrs Veronica Noronha compered the programme. Mr. Urban Pinto proposed Vote of thanks.
