Mumbai curtain-raiser of the First World Konkan Cultural Convention
Mumbai:- A press conference was held at Mumbai Press Club on 27th August 2010 to brief the Mumbai curtain-raiser 'Vovllik' (amantrann) will take place on August, 29, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Rang Sharada, Bandra(W). Shri Ashok Chavan, Hon'ble Minister for Public Health, Family Welfare, Environment, Protocal, Sports and Youth Welfare, Govt of Maharashtra; Shri Oscar Fernandes, M.P. Rajya Sabha ans Member CWC; Shri Allen Pinto, Mg. Director, Ryan International Group of Educational Institutes, will grace the occasion as Guests of Honour.
A team of singers and dancers of 'Kepechim Kirnnam'. Led by Baab Elvis Goes will perform for one hour at the Mumbai curtain-raiser. The Mumbai teams performing at the World Convention will be extended an official invitation at this programme.
To showcase to the world the beauty and variety of Konkani culture and to enhance the 'swabhiman'(self-esteem) of every Konkani, Mandd Sobhan- the World's Premier Konkani Cultural Organization - proudly organizes the First World Konkani Cultural Convention from November 25 to December 19 2010 - a 25 day's world-level cultural festival at Kalaangann, Mangalore.
