Mira road Turns to Golden

Golden celebrations come only once in the life time of a person. On Sunday, August 8^th Mira road turned to Golden with the 50^th birthday celebrations of Fr. Dominic vas, the parish Priest of St. Joseph church, Mira road. It was a grand occasion as the triple celebrations were held on Sunday. Being the Vianny day all the priests of the parish were felicitated by the children and the parishioners. They recounted all the services rendered by the priests and thanked them wholeheartedly. A grand program was put up by the parishioners to felicitate Fr. Dominic vas on his golden birthday. The parish youth, the children of Holy cross convent school, St. Joseph's school, the various linguistic parish associations of Tamil, Malayalam, Konkani and Gujarathi put up many dance, mimicry programs. There was live band put up by Ghetto music troupe. A special issue was brought out by Divo Konkani weekly on St. Joseph church. It was a comprehensive issue covering the history of the church, important events and persons, various associations and communities of the parish. The highlight of the function was the message given by Fr. Dominic vas. He said that if the parish of Mira road is a vibrant parish and a model parish today it is because of the dedication, unity and commitment of both the clergy and the parishioners. The whole program was a huge success which witnessed the solidarity and cooperation of all the parishioners.
